The debate over the Tokidoki Barbie is stupid. What about this is so offensive to younger audiences. Honestly she reminds me of Quinn post-makeover in Glee. But this whole thing about “sending a bad message” is stupid. She isn’t dressed provocatively, nor does she have a cigarette hanging out of her mouth. It’s not like she has track marks up her arm or has a purse full of Jungle Juice.
This whole debate is furthering the stereotype that the “Punk” style is offensive and they are all the scum of the earth. Companies have been releasing fake tattoos for kids since forever, but nobody ever really cared when that was it.
This whole controversy is pointing out that it’s bad to be different.
